Q1 2026 Impact: A Message from One of our Founders

Dear Friends,
For the past several weeks, there has been a heaviness weighing on my heart — a heaviness that has often left me in tears after returning home from visiting our senior friends.
When my mother and I launched this nonprofit last summer, we knew loneliness and isolation among seniors were serious issues. We understood the statistics and the impact they can have on physical and mental health. That understanding was one of the reasons we felt called to begin this mission.
But there is a difference between knowing something exists and witnessing it firsthand.
There is a difference between hearing about loneliness and sitting beside someone who quietly wonders if they have been forgotten. There is a difference between reading statistics and walking alongside people through some of the darkest and loneliest seasons of their lives.
Over the past few months, we have spent nearly 300 hours visiting seniors throughout our community — in their homes, senior living facilities, and hospitals. We have spent time with individuals who have no close family nearby, no local support system, and very little community around them. Others have family who love them deeply but live states away and are unable to be present regularly.
We have sat beside individuals battling depression, trauma, anxiety, cancer, progressing Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, and other life-altering health conditions — often with little to no support outside of medical appointments and brief interactions with caregivers.
We have visited seniors living entirely alone. Seniors recovering from falls with no one regularly checking in on them. In fact, over the past three weeks alone, six seniors we know personally have fallen. Thank God they are okay. We have also walked alongside individuals who recently lost their vision and are now trying to relearn how to navigate even the most basic daily tasks.
And then there are the family members.
Many are quietly carrying the enormous weight of caring for a loved one while trying to navigate complicated systems, advocate for proper care, manage their own responsibilities, and hold everything together emotionally. The burden they carry is heavy too.
Lately, I’ve often found myself crying out to the Lord, “It shouldn’t be this way.”
Because we were created for community. We were created to bear one another’s burdens, to love one another, and to walk through life together. Yet so many people are suffering in silence, feeling isolated and forgotten.
And still, even in the midst of that heaviness, there is beauty.
Despite all they are facing, many of these seniors remain incredibly generous and thoughtful. We have watched individuals give away food, bedding, furniture, and personal belongings to others in greater need. Their kindness and resilience have deeply impacted us.
It is an honor to serve these dear people and their families.
Every visit is an opportunity to listen, encourage, pray, support, and remind someone that they are loved and not forgotten. Most importantly, it is an opportunity to share the hope found in Jesus Christ and the promise of eternal life — a future where there will be no more loneliness, suffering, sickness, pain, or tears.
One of our dear senior friends says often, "It’ll all be worth it when we see Christ face to face.”
In addition to companion visits, we have also hosted activities this year within senior living communities to help foster friendship, fellowship, and connection among residents. Looking ahead, we hope to continue expanding these opportunities for both senior living residents and the broader community.
Thank you to every person who has supported this mission through prayer, encouragement, and financial giving. Your support truly means more than words can express.
As many of you know, my mother and I do not receive compensation for the work we do through this nonprofit. Every donation goes directly toward programs, activities, and operating expenses that allow us to continue serving seniors in meaningful and practical ways. GiveButter, our donation platform, is currently offering an additional $10 donation for every new recurring donor who signs up for monthly giving of at least $5. This offer is valid through tomorrow. If you feel led to partner with us in this way, we would be deeply grateful.
Lastly, if you have a senior in your life — whether it’s a family member, neighbor, or someone at church — I encourage you to reach out to them. Visit them. Call them. Send a card. Offer to help with a task around the house. Many seniors tell us they feel forgotten, and simple acts of kindness can mean the world.
And finally, do you have the hope of eternal life?
This past February, my mother and co-founder, Sharon Stewart, released a beautiful book titled The Road Home: Hope That Extends Beyond This Life. Whether you are a longtime believer or someone searching for hope, this book offers gentle encouragement to draw nearer to God and live with eternity in view — reminding us that every day is a gift and that true hope extends beyond this world. A portion of book sales is also donated to MyFriend.
Thank you again for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support. We can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for this summer and the remainder of the year.
In Heartfelt Friendship,
Sarah K. Stewart
