About Us
A Mission to End Social Isolation and Loneliness Among Senior Adults

MyFriend is a nonprofit organization rooted in Christian values, dedicated to easing social isolation and loneliness among senior adults by fostering genuine human connection. Through our volunteer-driven companion program, we offer friendship and meaningful connection to seniors living in care facilities, recovering in hospitals or nursing homes, or nearing the end of life in hospice. We also host uplifting community outreach events for seniors aging at home. Based in Fountain Hills, Arizona, and serving the Phoenix metropolitan area, our heart is to be an extension of family to every senior we meet—and a caring friend to their loved ones.

Recognizing the Signs of Loneliness in an Elderly Loved One

Loneliness among older adults is more common—and more harmful—than many people realize. While it's easy to notice physical changes in a loved one, emotional well-being can be much harder to detect, especially when loneliness shows up in subtle or easily overlooked ways. Recognizing the signs early can help you take meaningful steps toward offering support, connection, and comfort.
